Marcial Munio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Andrés Torres when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Marcial Munio sped through FC CHIVA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Andrés Torres. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcial Munio in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrés Torres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andrés Torres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcial Munio in the 25th minute. After 27 minutes FC CHIVA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anastasio Amesti who took care of the corner kick. A hard shot 29 in the game by Marcial Munio from a close distance when the talented Andrés Torres managed to make a qualified save. FC CHIVA's players were relieved. 3-0 became the score in the 30th minute when Marcial Munio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Paulino Lamberto took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Andrés Torres to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Carmelo Osoitz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andrés Torres. That made the score 5-0 in the 36 minute of play. In the 38th match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcial Munio to maneuver through the defense. After 40 played minutes FC CHIVA got a freekick which was hit by Cresenciano Moya. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcial Munio in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrés Torres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andrés Torres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcial Munio's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Marcial Munio put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Andrés Torres. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcial Munio in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrés Torres saved FC CHIVA from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, FC CHIVA's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Munio came free, but Andrés Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. San Martin de Tucuman's Severino Elorri was substituted for Ubaldo Veto. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Juan Monje replaced Luciano Selmo. Marcial Munio might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrés Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcial Munio ran back to his position shaking his head. 71 minutes into the match, FC CHIVA's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Munio came free, but Andrés Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC CHIVA's zone, Marcial Munio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrés Torres came out of the goal and Marcial Munio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of San Martin de Tucuman booed when FC CHIVA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eneko Sobrado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrés Torres came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by San Martin de Tucuman's Hector Gizon. But to his dismay, Hector Gizon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC CHIVA's zone, Anastasio Amesti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrés Torres came out of the goal and Anastasio Amesti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Paulino Lamberto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hector Gizon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrés Torres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Hector Gizon struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Andrés Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Martin de Tucuman. 96 minutes into the match, Hector Gizon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrés Torres. FC CHIVA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hector Gizon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The San Martin de Tucuman fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC CHIVA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
