In the 7th match minute, FC Lugano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dietrich Bucheli to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Vico Sticher got a free kick in the 9th minute. Dušan Engler hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 15th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon in the 19th minute of play forced FC Kukova's goalkeeper Václav Židek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 played minutes FC Kukova got a freekick which was hit by Ondrej Olejár. FC Lugano's Vico Sticher got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Václav Židek made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Václav Židek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Lugano made a substitution. Qiao Jian replaced Ray Büeler. Václav Židek made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Qiao Jian sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Václav Židek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, FC Kukova's Václav Židek got control of the ball when Qiao Jian tried to sneak it across the goal line. Václav Židek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vico Sticher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

FC Lugano made a substitution. Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol replaced Garnier Nüesch. In the 60th minute, Garnier Nüesch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, FC Kukova's goal looked a bit too open when Qiao Jian came free, but Václav Židek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When FC Lugano's Qiao Jian in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Kukova's goalie prevented a goal. Vico Sticher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Václav Židek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vico Sticher in the 75th minute of play. Tibor Bajza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Václav Židek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Qiao Jian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Kukova's Václav Židek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Václav Židek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Václav Židek. Václav Židek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Ondrej Olejár could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Godo Gøl made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, FC Kukova's goal looked a bit too open when Qiao Jian came free, but Václav Židek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that FC Lugano were the better team. FC Lugano's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
