Alex Vieru was slow to take the kick. During this time BVB 09's players had a chance to rest. BVB 09's Alex Vieru was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Paul Stanley in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Miguel Abuelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walther Hörster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Clementsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute Lucrețiu Agulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Stanley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osmane Molhamam charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of BVB 09 booed when Psycho-Circus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Ugutz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Psycho-Circus's zone, Vic Cos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Stanley came out of the goal and Vic Cos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Florin Tărău's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paul Stanley was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Agustin Ugutz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Walther Hörster. BVB 09's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, BVB 09's Vic Cos got a free kick in the 26th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Psycho-Circus's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Agulescu came free, but Paul Stanley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florin Tărău to make the kick off. Isidro Vincente's late challenge caught a BVB 09's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
