Bernardo Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Batistuta in the 12th minute of play. When Donato Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Purple Talents's protests and gave Donato Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Purple Talents was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Michel Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Corrêa having to make a save. Bernardo Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Batistuta in the 20th minute of play. Iker Carabajal came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vascogoianiense FC's Anderson Valladares. But to his dismay, Anderson Valladares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Vascogoianiense FC booed when Purple Talents was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jozef van Elderen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Manuel Segovia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christof Bernage. In the 38th minute of the match, Diego Goos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bernardo Corrêa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bernardo Corrêa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michel Batistuta's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diego Goos to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Michel Batistuta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Corrêa. Vascogoianiense FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michel Batistuta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 62 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Batistuta came free, but Bernardo Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Batistuta in the 62nd minute of the match. Bernardo Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Goos in the 63rd minute of play. Michel Batistuta scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Corrêa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Batistuta in the 74th minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Batistuta came free, but Bernardo Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Purple Talents's Iker Carabajal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Purple Talents from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Michel Batistuta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Purple Talents fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Manuel Segovia hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Christof Bernage managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purple Talents's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christof Bernage was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vascogoianiense FC's Bernardo Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Batistuta in the 86th minute of play. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Michel Batistuta sped through Vascogoianiense FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Corrêa. Michel Batistuta took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardo Corrêa. Bernardo Corrêa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Michel Batistuta struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Bernardo Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purple Talents. In the 95th minute, Michel Batistuta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. Purple Talents's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
