When Rodolfo Guerau came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Guerau couldn't finish the play. Astillero del Guayas's Long Yuan De proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Astillero del Guayas from getting a goal against them. Rodolfo Guerau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Long Yuan De read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s Melquiades Rodriguez was substituted for Rodolfo Guerau. When Jose Sugar fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s protests and gave Jose Sugar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jose Sugar hit a great ball. Pepe Santoro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paredes Campderros showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 54 minute of play. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Javier Landeras hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Javier Landeras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Rodriguez. If Melquiades Rodriguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Sugar in the 82nd minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Long Yuan De to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Astillero del Guayas's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Exequiel Zeballos took the corner. The corner led to ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡'s Eustacio Tercero getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Rodriguez in the 90th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Long Yuan De to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute Melquiades Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Long Yuan De saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Long Yuan De took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melquiades Rodriguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Long Yuan De made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Sugar in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Melquiades Rodriguez came free, but Long Yuan De reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Astillero del Guayas's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ≡≡ SOMOS ARGENTINA ≡≡ had won, even though Astillero del Guayas had held more of the ball.
