Octavian Bogdănescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lemel SV's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Costin Iorgu scored to the left of an out of position Mark Kimman, making the score, 1-1. Răzvan Petrescu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 14 minutes into the match. In the 14th match minute, FC Steaua Pildesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Răzvan Petrescu to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the FC Steaua Pildesti defense, Teun Schoenmakers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavian Bogdănescu. The FC Steaua Pildesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octavian Bogdănescu should have stopped the shot. Lemel SV's Teun Schoenmakers got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 27 minutes, Rudi Hateboer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lemel SV and the FC Steaua Pildesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rudi Hateboer kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Mark Kimman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costin Iorgu in the 28th minute of play. The throw-in from Virgil Dragalina in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lemel SV's Guus Rinzema. After having played for 33 minutes, Edward Verbeek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lemel SV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Verbeek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teun Schoenmakers took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Bogdănescu. Octavian Bogdănescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Teun Schoenmakers's late challenge caught a FC Steaua Pildesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teun Schoenmakers helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Teun Schoenmakers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the FC Steaua Pildesti defense, Teun Schoenmakers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavian Bogdănescu. The FC Steaua Pildesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octavian Bogdănescu should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute, Teun Schoenmakers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lemel SV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. After the first half Lemel SV were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teun Schoenmakers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Roşu came free, but Mark Kimman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Teun Schoenmakers came free, but Octavian Bogdănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octavian Bogdănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teun Schoenmakers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Traian Roşu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adam Buș hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute of the game, Gheorghe Vlăsiu landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Guus Rinzema fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lemel SV's protests and gave Guus Rinzema a yellow card for diving instead. Guus Rinzema kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, FC Steaua Pildesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Buș to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, FC Steaua Pildesti's Octavian Bogdănescu got control of the ball when Teun Schoenmakers tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Teun Schoenmakers took a quick shot and it went in 2-6 without a chance for Octavian Bogdănescu to make any attempt to save it. After 93 minutes Lemel SV's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augustin Nechifor who took care of the corner kick. Costin Iorgu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Lemel SV players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
