In the 41st minute Donato Trentini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gao Yang Yan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Boulogne F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Dante Tiniebra. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Boulogne F.C.'s Ask Stamnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gianluca Prestin in the 89th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Boulogne F.C.'s zone, Roch Felenak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ask Stamnes came out of the goal and Roch Felenak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Many of Boulogne F.C.'s supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Boulogne F.C. may have spent more time on the ball, but La Pointe Courte were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
