Pirmin Jäggi started the match with the kick off. Pirmin Jäggi took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armindo Salgado. Armindo Salgado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Luís Caeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Qiu Sheng Bang kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezio Gøl, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes VB-Team got a freekick which was hit by Mattias Jonasson. 23 minutes into the match, VB-Team's goal looked a bit too open when Ezio Gøl came free, but Armindo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Ezio Gøl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pirmin Jäggi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Téo Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquim de Barros. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Caeiro in the 29th minute of play. Lionel Paly made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquim de Barros in the 38th minute. Joaquim de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joaquim de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of VB-Team booed when FC Wil 1900 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curtiz Klein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pirmin Jäggi in the 47th minute of play. Armindo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pirmin Jäggi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the VB-Team defense, Pirmin Jäggi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armindo Salgado. The VB-Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armindo Salgado should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim de Barros in the 56th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute of the match VB-Team got a corner. FC Wil 1900's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gervásio Severiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lionel Paly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Caeiro in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philipp Santagapita to maneuver through the defense. VB-Team's Sandro Leitão was substituted for Qiu Sheng Bang. Shao Kun Yuan hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, VB-Team's Álvaro Rezende got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Pirmin Jäggis short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Armindo Salgado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Philipp Santagapita hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yu Ke Hong in the 81st minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yu Ke Hong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Armindo Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emery Heller in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emery Heller. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Alisson De Gasperi managed to get in a good position for a shot. VB-Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Alisson De Gasperi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lionel Paly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Georges Gladu hit a great ball. 97 minutes into the game, FC Wil 1900's Alex Leisibach nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armindo Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. FC Wil 1900's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
