Gabriele Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius Vanneste having to interfere. Camilo Salvidor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Thielens in the 9th minute of the match. Peter Söderqwist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caetano Linhares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julius Vanneste came out and tried to block the shot, but Caetano Linhares slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute, Gabriele Batistuta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Menchu FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Gabriele Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julius Vanneste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 23rd minute of play. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joop Hollandts in the 31st minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Gabriele Batistuta notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Limburg United's Julius Vanneste. Julius Vanneste was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Peter Söderqwist came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Menchu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Söderqwist couldn't finish the play. Luke Demarez made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Anios Karaoulanis however managed to control. Julius Vanneste took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriele Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriele Batistuta in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julius Vanneste saved Limburg United from getting behind. 52 minutes into the game, Gabriele Batistuta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Julius Vanneste was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Limburg United defense, Gabriele Batistuta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julius Vanneste. The Limburg United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julius Vanneste should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 59th minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriele Batistuta might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julius Vanneste. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriele Batistuta ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62ndth minute of the game Gabriele Batistuta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Limburg United's Julius Vanneste was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute of the match Menchu FC got a corner. Limburg United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abdoulay Doucouré ran over to the corner to take the kick. Abdoulay Doucouré made a great header on Menchu FC's corner, it was just that Limburg United's Julius Vanneste managed to reach the ball for a save. Gabriele Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julius Vanneste having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 66th minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes in the game Luke Demarez did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Anios Karaoulanis. Gabriele Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julius Vanneste having to make a save. 73 minutes into the match, Menchu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Hollandts came free, but Camilo Salvidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Roderigo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julius Vanneste having to make a save. Julius Vanneste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Limburg United booed when Menchu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdoulay Doucouré didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Joop Hollandts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor got control of the ball when Douglas Debecker tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Gabriele Batistuta sped through Limburg United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julius Vanneste. When Carlos Campelo came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Menchu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Campelo couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Menchu FC had played much better football throughout.
