Viorel Iacobescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Cristian Voican made a huge save. 9 minutes into the game, Radu Rusu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Romania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC PIETROSUL -MM- the free kick. A hard shot 11 in the game by Viorel Iacobescu from a close distance when the talented Cristian Voican managed to make a qualified save. U21 Romania's players were relieved. Niculae Rădvan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Caba in the 13th minute of play. With his leg Cristian Voican managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Viorel Iacobescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Aurel Teodoroiu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. U21 Romania's Cristian Voican played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelian Odobescu in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute FC PIETROSUL -MM- were awarded a corner. Aurelian Odobescu went to the cornerflag to take it. 38 minutes into the match, Viorel Iacobescu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of U21 Romania's Cristian Voican. Cristian Voican was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Viorel Iacobescu struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Cristian Voican didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC PIETROSUL -MM-. The supporters of FC PIETROSUL -MM- booed when U21 Romania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sorin Dragușin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 played minutes U21 Romania got a freekick which was hit by Ion Ike. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

FC PIETROSUL -MM- made a substitution. Dan Burdujan replaced Filip Braia. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viorel Iacobescu made a kick off. Ciprian Halipa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th match minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Bosioc to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Ciprian Halipa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Voican saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, U21 Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Odobescu came free, but Cristian Voican reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69thth minute of the game Cristi Ciprian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Romania's Cristian Voican was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Voican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Bosioc, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Cristian Voican showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sever Crăiniceanu in the 76th minute of the match. Ciprian Caba in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Niculae Rădvan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristian Voican showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristi Ciprian in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sever Crăiniceanu to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciprian Caba in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niculae Rădvan saved FC PIETROSUL -MM- from getting behind. Cristian Voican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristi Ciprian, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 91 played minutes FC PIETROSUL -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Dan Burdujan. The long shot by Sorin Dragușin in the 92nd minute really tested Niculae Rădvan's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 94th minute Cristi Ciprian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Voican saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute FC PIETROSUL -MM- were awarded a corner. Aurelian Odobescu went to the cornerflag to take it.
