In the 31st minute, AIF's Leonardo Hydén seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leonardo Hydén the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AIF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leonardo Hydén had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. AIF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bianco Tacco got free with Ronny Hellström in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, Goiãnia's goalkeeper Ronny Hellström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bianco Tacco. When Alfred Sandström came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the AIF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Sandström couldn't finish the play. Ronny Hellström was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Mahir Dagdeviren capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mahir Dagdeviren really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. If Oskar Jakobsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Oskar Jakobsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Jakobsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alfred Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronny Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Sandström in the 96th minute of play. AIF played a much better game than Goiãnia and deserved their victory. The Goiãnia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
