A well done corner resulted in Gu Zhan Cheng drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper. 10 minutes into the game, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerry Lodge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denílson Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joe Herring blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodriguinho Sousa having to make a save. With a little luck, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa got control of the ball when Joe Herring tried to sneak it across the goal line. ATHLETICO PRaiano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Unax Mudarra in the 18th minute. The corner ended in Unax Mudarra almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Valencia C.F.'s Jerry Lodge did a great save. Valencia C.F.'s Todd Kidd got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Ryan Plumber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerry Lodge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Deilmison van Basten went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Denílson Magalhães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerry Lodge narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Valencia C.F. getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Emílio Nóbrega hit a great ball. Jerry Lodge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 40th minute of play. Simão do Vale's late challenge caught a Valencia C.F.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simão do Vale helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 played minutes ATHLETICO PRaiano got a freekick which was hit by Simão do Vale. 46 minutes into the game, Denílson Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ATHLETICO PRaiano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valencia C.F. the free kick. Denílson Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deilmison van Basten was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Deilmison van Basten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Jerry Lodge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Deilmison van Basten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Lodge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 59th minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Jerry Lodge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 64th match minute, Valencia C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Bean to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Deilmison van Basten came free, but Jerry Lodge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerry Lodge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Deilmison van Basten's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Oliver Bean kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Oliver Bean hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Lodge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ATHLETICO PRaiano players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
