But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pelle Maradona couldn't finish the play. Nacho González showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pelle Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Xaiver Ascarretazabal hit a great ball. Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pelle Maradona in the 23rd minute of play. Adan Bembe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zarando Eguizabal in the 25th minute of the match. Adan Bembe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fan Lang Ning went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 32nd minute, Pelle Maradona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nacho González. The goal made the score 1-1. After 35 played minutes Villa La Perla got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Santio. Juan-Pablo Leyarte took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adan Bembe. Villa La Perla's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pelle Maradona scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nacho González, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute, Pelle Maradona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pelle Maradona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nacho González having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Xaiver Ascarretazabal made a precise shot to the right of Adan Bembe. Villa La Perla's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 62 minutes of play, Villa La Perla's 손 흥 made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nacho González was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fan Lang Ning received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adan Bembe came out and tried to block the shot, but Fan Lang Ning slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 68th minute. Venancio Santio kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute of the game Clóvis Lima made a throw-in which Zarando Eguizabal played forward. A collision led to Villa La Perla getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Alfonso Goyo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulizes Sola in the 80th minute of play forced Villa La Perla's goalkeeper Adan Bembe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
