In the 5thth minute of the game Emil Kostadinov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spartans Lodz's Leszek Brak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leszek Brak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nedko Telbizov in the 9th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Nedko Telbizov made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Spartans Lodz's Leszek Brak tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Spartans Lodz's Fryderyk Jajecznica slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Biser Mihailov. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. Nedko Telbizov took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leszek Brak. Leszek Brak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Leszek Brak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nedko Telbizov in the 25th minute of the match. Fryderyk Jajecznica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Biser Mihailov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iwan Ostrowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Fryderyk Jajecznica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Biser Mihailov made a huge save. 46 minutes into the game, Krzysztof Okopny was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spartans Lodz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lokomotiv Plovdiv the free kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Spartans Lodz! After 61 minutes Spartans Lodz's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Violet Skerlev who took care of the corner kick. After 64 played minutes Spartans Lodz got a freekick which was hit by Lucjan Rasiak. After 66 played minutes, Spartans Lodz's Lucjan Rasiak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Biser Mihailov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Spartans Lodz reached it. 68 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Plovdiv's goal looked a bit too open when Iwan Ostrowski came free, but Biser Mihailov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Biser Mihailov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fryderyk Jajecznica in the 78th minute of play. When Nedko Telbizov came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Lokomotiv Plovdiv fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nedko Telbizov couldn't finish the play. Fryderyk Jajecznica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Biser Mihailov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emil Kostadinov took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leszek Brak. Leszek Brak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. In the 96th minute, Tzeno Budakov had to leave the field with a concussion. Iwan Ostrowski hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Lokomotiv Plovdiv played a much better game than Spartans Lodz and deserved their victory. The Spartans Lodz players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
