Capo de Provincia's Héctor Barra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Austin Muller in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Jiménez in the 27th minute of play forced Lyons's goalkeeper Luisito Quinten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Boleslaw Zielinski took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Héctor Barra to make any attempt to save it. 46 minutes into the match, David Villa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lyons's Luisito Quinten. Luisito Quinten was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Villa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 66th minute, Luis Jiménez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Capo de Provincia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Capo de Provincia made a substitution. Alejandro Martxelin replaced Luis Jiménez. Lyons made a substitution. Dariusz Roano replaced Boleslaw Zielinski. Capo de Provincia's Epifanío Mejia was substituted for Juan Riquelme. Capo de Provincia's Próspero Imaz was substituted for Fructuoso Acedo. Lyons made a substitution. Stig Åkerberg replaced Aurelio Vasco. After 73 played minutes Capo de Provincia got a freekick which was hit by Epifanío Mejia. The audience was convinced that Dariusz Roano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Héctor Barra was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. David Villa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luisito Quinten firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Alejandro Martxelin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Capo de Provincia's Carlo Valdivieso got a free kick in the 90th minute. Dariusz Roano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Héctor Barra having to interfere. Capo de Provincia were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
