In the 22nd minute Doctor Strange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sport Clube Recife's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Paulo Baldaia scored to the left of an out of position Percy Fernandez, making the score, 1-1. 45 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucjan Oliszewski. Dagoberto Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Lampard, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Baldaia in the 61st minute of play. Percy Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Oliszewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute.
