Betão Vargas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edwin Devine having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dag Ahlrot in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dagoberto Veiga saved SE Tijolo 6 Furos from getting behind. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Dag Ahlrot sped through SE Tijolo 6 Furos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dagoberto Veiga. In the 24th minute, Ivo Gusmão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Cartagena's Alonzo Helguera got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Betão Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin Devine having to interfere. Israel Lazcano hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Edwin Devine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Vargas in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31stth minute of the game Betão Vargas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Cartagena's Edwin Devine was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Betão Vargas might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Devine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Betão Vargas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd minute Betão Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Devine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin Devine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dagoberto Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dag Ahlrot in the 37th minute. Real Cartagena were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after SE Tijolo 6 Furos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alonzo Helguera took the corner. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Betão Vargas during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes SE Tijolo 6 Furos got a freekick which was hit by Betão Vargas.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Betão Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of SE Tijolo 6 Furos booed when Real Cartagena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kayacan Münib didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SE Tijolo 6 Furos's Luiz Eduardo Porto got a free kick in the 59th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
