Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Romulo Casado started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the match, FC Builder Sofia's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Casado came free, but Stamen Kapitanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Traian Mugur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stamen Kapitanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Exequiel Zeballos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, FC Builder Sofia's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Casado came free, but Stamen Kapitanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Boudewijn Buskes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 22 minutes, Romulo Casado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romulo Casado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of FC Builder Sofia booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvestre Berdoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Genaro Quiroga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Exequiel Zeballos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 minutes of play, FC Builder Sofia's Exequiel Zeballos made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Genaro Quiroga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dobri Zhablenski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stamen Kapitanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romulo Casado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romulo Casado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stamen Kapitanov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Builder Sofia's goalkeeper Stamen Kapitanov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Murilo Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Builder Sofia's Stamen Kapitanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristo Restu in the 44th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Silvestre Berdoi in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Builder Sofia's Dobri Zhablenski. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Exequiel Zeballos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stamen Kapitanov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romulo Casado in the 53rd minute. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Romulo Casado took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Stamen Kapitanov to make any attempt to save it. Romulo Casado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Stamen Kapitanov made a huge save. Genaro Quiroga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Exequiel Zeballos, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Exequiel Zeballos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Genaro Quiroga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Berdoi to maneuver through the defense. River Plate's Mauricio Tiniebra was substituted for Henrikh Vartanyan. FC Builder Sofia's Sten Askestät was substituted for Exequiel Zeballos. River Plate's Erik Albuquerque was substituted for Eleuterio Efraim. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Silvestre Berdoi got a free kick in the 69th minute. With a little luck, FC Builder Sofia's Stamen Kapitanov got control of the ball when Romulo Casado tried to sneak it across the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Thomas Grelsson in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by River Plate's Esteban Torres. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Agustín Casadei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genaro Quiroga. The River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genaro Quiroga should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Askestät in the 91st minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Genaro Quiroga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
