The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Kaan Aktürk suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. International Thunders's Mirco Schreyer was substituted for Kaan Aktürk. The supporters of International Thunders booed when Zorongo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zbyszek Gaszynski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Egoitz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodrigo Ferdinand's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Stefan Neubrandt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszko Moczkiewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stefan Neubrandt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zbyszko Moczkiewicz went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Zbyszko Moczkiewicz took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stefan Neubrandt. Stefan Neubrandt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind International Thunders's goalkeeper Stefan Neubrandt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Zorongo FC booed when International Thunders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tibor Bäuschlein didn't get a good kick on the ball. International Thunders's Stefan Neubrandt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save International Thunders from getting a goal against them. Juan Egoitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loukianos Staikos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stefan Neubrandt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbyszko Moczkiewicz in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in International Thunders's zone, Zbyszko Moczkiewicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefan Neubrandt came out of the goal and Zbyszko Moczkiewicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Zorongo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Ferdinand came free, but Juan Egoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Zorongo FC's Octavio Zapater got a free kick in the 34th minute. Stefan Neubrandt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zbyszko Moczkiewicz in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Zorongo FC got a freekick which was hit by Julio Barroso. 44 minutes into the match, Zorongo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Ferdinand came free, but Juan Egoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Raimundas Baleika in the 47th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Zorongo FC's Volodya Belevski. The crowd rose to their feet as Zbyszko Moczkiewicz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stefan Neubrandt. That made the score 3-0 in the 48 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbyszko Moczkiewicz to make the kick off. International Thunders's Gernot Kellner managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Arvid Forssell in the 53 minute of the game. Zorongo FC's Juan Egoitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Zorongo FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbyszko Moczkiewicz in the 56th minute of play forced International Thunders's goalkeeper Stefan Neubrandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. International Thunders's Stefan Neubrandt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbyszko Moczkiewicz in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbyszko Moczkiewicz in the 71st minute of play forced International Thunders's goalkeeper Stefan Neubrandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Zbyszko Moczkiewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. International Thunders's Jonathan Soon was substituted for Loukianos Staikos. Gerardo Giro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Neubrandt having to interfere. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind International Thunders's goalkeeper Stefan Neubrandt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Juan Egoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Soon in the 83rd minute of play. The corner ended in Tibor Bäuschlein almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Zorongo FC's Juan Egoitz did a great save. In the 86th minute, Zbyszko Moczkiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Juan Egoitz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Raimundas Baleika made in the 91st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Zorongo FC's Goyo Blazquez. In the 92nd minute Zbyszko Moczkiewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Neubrandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Zbyszko Moczkiewicz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stefan Neubrandt. International Thunders's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zbyszko Moczkiewicz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the International Thunders players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Zorongo FC.
