In the 4th minute Jacinto Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Hägglund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Karl-Erik Magnusson in the 6th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Deportivo Capitalista's Jeronimo Frasco. 7 minutes into the game, Armando Barrera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A Gryffindor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Capitalista the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Quirino in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andreas Hägglund saved Deportivo Capitalista from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Quirino in the 14th minute of play forced Deportivo Capitalista's goalkeeper Andreas Hägglund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A Gryffindor's Marquinhos Filho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Celedonio Monico in the 18 minute of the game. Ignacio Schor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Chicão de Azevedo made a huge save. Karl-Erik Magnusson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andreas Hägglund having to make a save. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Jacinto Quirino sped through Deportivo Capitalista's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Andreas Hägglund. The supporters of C.A Gryffindor booed when Deportivo Capitalista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Monico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chicão de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Loi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute.
