In the 5th minute, Caleb Law hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeng Jing Yue fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máté Márton having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Maritza's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Sancho came free, but Danail Mitzakov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danail Mitzakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Danail Mitzakov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 18 minutes Maritza's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Franz Beckenbauer who took care of the corner kick. 20 minutes into the match, Maritza's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Sancho came free, but Danail Mitzakov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Damaso Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Danail Mitzakov. Maritza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damaso Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Maritza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeng Jing Yue didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danail Mitzakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Sancho in the 29th minute of play. Damaso Sancho took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danail Mitzakov. Danail Mitzakov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Máté Márton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeng Jing Yue in the 35th minute of the match. Kaj-Åke Kaká might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danail Mitzakov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kaj-Åke Kaká ran back to his position shaking his head. Maritza's Danail Mitzakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Sancho in the 41st minute of play. The corner ended in Gonzalo Cucho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Maritza's Danail Mitzakov did a great save.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maritza's goalkeeper Danail Mitzakov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 54th minute of the match Congo Bongo got a corner. Maritza's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Franz Beckenbauer ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Franz Beckenbauer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Danail Mitzakov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 56 played minutes Maritza got a freekick which was hit by Zeng Jing Yue. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Congo Bongo were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Maritza's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Franz Beckenbauer took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeng Jing Yue in the 66th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Sergio Austin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damaso Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Danail Mitzakov made a huge save. When Damaso Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Congo Bongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damaso Sancho couldn't finish the play. Congo Bongo made a substitution. Arnaldo Oidor replaced Sergio Austin. Maritza's Danang Juanda was substituted for Pavlin Dzhegalski. Máté Márton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zoltán Hubina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maritza's Danail Mitzakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Sancho in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute Kaj-Åke Kaká shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danail Mitzakov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maritza's goalkeeper Danail Mitzakov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Damaso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Congo Bongo were furious when Franz Beckenbauer was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Congo Bongo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Maritza:s goal. In the 97th minute Maritza were awarded a corner. Feliks Chwalkiewicz went to the cornerflag to take it. Although Maritza had been in control for most of the match, Congo Bongo still came away with the win.
