In the 18th minute, Rui Costa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aurelio Di Lullo. The goal made the score 4-0. When Italy's Carlo Borgatello in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valdieri's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Carlo Borgatello sped through Valdieri's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aurelio Di Lullo. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlo Borgatello made a kick off. Aurelio Di Lullo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Borgatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Carlo Borgatello sped through Valdieri's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aurelio Di Lullo. Carlo Borgatello scored 10-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurelio Di Lullo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Carlo Borgatello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Di Lullo. Valdieri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlo Borgatello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. Italy's Carmine Bonanni was substituted for Carlo Borgatello. Italy made a substitution. Flavio Miconi replaced Anfilogino Pittelli. Carmine Bonanni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edoardo Cabrini kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Aurelio Di Lullo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Bonanni in the 69th minute of play. After 73 minutes of play, Italy's Carmine Bonanni made it 12-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurelio Di Lullo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute, Didi Ladron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Valdieri's zone, Carmine Bonanni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Di Lullo came out of the goal and Carmine Bonanni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, Carmine Bonanni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Di Lullo. Valdieri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carmine Bonanni was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 14-0. Carmine Bonanni took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Di Lullo. Aurelio Di Lullo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 15-0. 94 minutes into the game, Italy's Carmine Bonanni nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelio Di Lullo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 16-0. There was no doubt that Italy were the better team. Italy's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
