An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Catarinense in the 8th minute of play forced Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goalkeeper Józef Wandzik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giuseppe Catarinense took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Józef Wandzik. Józef Wandzik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Ludomil Wawro got a free kick in the 11th minute. Józef Wandzik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Januário Domingos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute of the match, Przemyslaw Przybylo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marco Bessa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Józef Wandzik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Catarinense in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Radoslaw Starogardzki got a free kick in the 20th minute. Marco Bessa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zbyszko Walkowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Józef Wandzik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Januário Domingos in the 27th minute of the match. AD Pontassolense were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Cosmos 1984 NewDance's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Januário Domingos took the corner. Januário Domingos made a great header on AD Pontassolense's corner, it was just that Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Józef Wandzik managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 31stth minute of the game Giuseppe Catarinense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Józef Wandzik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to AD Pontassolense getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Paul Mussett hit a great ball. After 45 played minutes Cosmos 1984 NewDance got a freekick which was hit by Kryspin Sala. Albino Caetano was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 48 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of AD Pontassolense:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cosmos 1984 NewDance:s goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Januário Domingos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of AD Pontassolense booed when Cosmos 1984 NewDance was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kryspin Sala didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, AD Pontassolense's Rene Payueta got a free kick in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, AD Pontassolense's Kevin Quintanilha got a free kick in the 59th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Januário Domingos could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Józef Wandzik however easily saved by the left post. Józef Wandzik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério Bettencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute of the match AD Pontassolense got a corner. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Januário Domingos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goalie and right to Rogério Bettencourt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Kevin Quintanilha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Józef Wandzik came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by AD Pontassolense's Paul Mussett. But to his dismay, Paul Mussett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 84th minute, Giuseppe Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cosmos 1984 NewDance made a substitution. Remigiusz Barys replaced Milosz Ikalewicz. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Tymoteusz Rakowski was substituted for Przemyslaw Przybylo. After having played for 86 minutes, Zbyszko Walkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zbyszko Walkowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. AD Pontassolense's Kevin Quintanilha was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 91st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 94 minutes, Radoslaw Starogardzki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cosmos 1984 NewDance and the AD Pontassolense players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AD Pontassolense booed when Cosmos 1984 NewDance was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radoslaw Starogardzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Januário Domingos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
