BOTAFOGO's Adalberto Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thanh in the 20th minute of play. Huế were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after BOTAFOGO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nguyễn Thanh took the corner. The audience was convinced that Édouard Deloge's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Binh was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. With a little luck, BOTAFOGO's Adalberto Breckenfeld got control of the ball when Nguyễn Thanh tried to sneak it across the goal line. Édouard Deloge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lê Binh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Jaanek Oese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Binh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute Nilmar Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Binh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adalberto Breckenfeld didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Thanh went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Placido Paul stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Édouard Deloge in the 51st minute of play forced Huế's goalkeeper Lê Binh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Huế defense, Jaanek Oese kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lê Binh. The Huế fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lê Binh should have stopped the shot. Lê Binh didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 3-3. Lê Binh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaanek Oese, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. If Nguyễn Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute Placido Paul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Huế's goalkeeper Lê Binh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gavril Bucur. In the 73rd minute, BOTAFOGO's Édouard Deloge ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lê Binh. Lê Binh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. After 77 minutes of play, BOTAFOGO's Jaanek Oese made it 3-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lê Binh was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Huế defense, Édouard Deloge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lê Binh. The Huế fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lê Binh should have stopped the shot. 83 minutes into the match, Huế's goal looked a bit too open when Jaanek Oese came free, but Lê Binh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adalberto Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Thanh in the 86th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Kauan Melo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 95 minutes BOTAFOGO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nguyễn Thanh who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Huế's corner Nguyễn Thanh fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Adalberto Breckenfeld quite easily take care of the ball. BOTAFOGO played a much better game than Huế and deserved their victory. The Huế players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
