An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauan Melo in the 14th minute of play forced Minh City FC's goalkeeper Set Doig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, BOTAFOGO's Gavril Bucur nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Set Doig made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Set Doig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Édouard Deloge, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Đỗ Mai hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute Jaanek Oese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Set Doig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Minh City FC's Set Doig got control of the ball when Gavril Bucur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adalberto Breckenfeld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabien Defer in the 76th minute of play. With his leg Set Doig managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when BOTAFOGO's Gavril Bucur fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fabinho Medeiros hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The supporters of BOTAFOGO booed when Minh City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position.
