Cai Yuan Yuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Genaro Quiroga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, MZ Fénix's Cai Yuan Yuan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Genaro Quiroga. Genaro Quiroga yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cai Yuan Yuan in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Genaro Quiroga saved River Plate from getting behind. When Nicolás Otamendi fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Nicolás Otamendi a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Nicolás Otamendi. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Florin Dragușin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Genaro Quiroga came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by MZ Fénix's Cai Yuan Yuan. But to his dismay, Cai Yuan Yuan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Cai Yuan Yuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Quiroga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute MZ Fénix were awarded a corner. Aras Görkem Kaymaz went to the cornerflag to take it. Aras Görkem Kaymaz made a great header on MZ Fénix's corner, it was just that River Plate's Genaro Quiroga managed to reach the ball for a save. Remigio Cugat made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by MZ Fénix's Tomasz Waldoch. Genaro Quiroga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cai Yuan Yuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cai Yuan Yuan was the one to do the kick off. MZ Fénix's Pankracy Zajonc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Casado in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Cai Yuan Yuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Romulo Casado hit a great ball. Cai Yuan Yuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Quiroga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. The supporters of River Plate booed when MZ Fénix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Granja didn't get a good kick on the ball. River Plate's Mauricio Tiniebra was substituted for Henrikh Vartanyan. Vladimiro Granja kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Romulo Casado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Zajonc having to interfere. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind River Plate's goalkeeper Genaro Quiroga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 85 minutes into the game, Cai Yuan Yuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Genaro Quiroga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cai Yuan Yuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Quiroga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Cai Yuan Yuan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genaro Quiroga came out of the goal and Cai Yuan Yuan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. River Plate's Genaro Quiroga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aras Görkem Kaymaz in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MZ Fénix fully deserved thier win.
