That made the score 1-1 after 29 minutes of play. 38 minutes into the match, CAN ERZURUM's goal looked a bit too open when Doctor Strange came free, but Joar Scheie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joar Scheie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Penha in the 40th minute of play. When Pablo Lampard came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sport Clube Recife fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Lampard couldn't finish the play. Joar Scheie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Penha in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doctor Strange was the one to do the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percy Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Birkan Kayra in the 84th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Birkan Kayra in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Percy Fernandez saved Sport Clube Recife from getting behind. After 94 minutes Sport Clube Recife's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sven-Olof Vestlund who took care of the corner kick. Sven-Olof Vestlund made a great header on CAN ERZURUM's corner, it was just that Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Wei Quan in the 95th minute of play forced Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
