Spectators: 419 (Terracing: 321, Seating: 98, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Imanol Navarro kicked off to start the match. The Correntezas EC fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Correntezas EC's Virgílio Pitta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Virgílio Pitta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 7th minute. Correntezas EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dé Chaves might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severo Rubio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dé Chaves ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Solera in the 11th minute of play forced Correntezas EC's goalkeeper Gerson Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Bittencourt came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Velez FC's Edgardo Solera. But to his dismay, Edgardo Solera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gerson Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Imanol Navarro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristobal Velasco hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernán Acha in the 27th minute of play forced Correntezas EC's goalkeeper Gerson Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Imanol Navarro in the 28th minute of the match. In the last second Severo Rubio throw himself and got hold of the ball when Virgílio Pitta in the 31stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 33rd minute Correntezas EC were awarded a corner. Silas Castro went to the cornerflag to take it. Gomesano Benedicto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gerson Bittencourt. Correntezas EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Velez FC's Hernán Acha suffered a sprained foot after 37 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Eduardo Massa during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Velez FC booed when Correntezas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Eduardo Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Velez FC's Gomesano Benedicto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 38th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Correntezas EC. After a rather tough play, Velez FC's Baraxil Belalcaraz got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45thth minute of the game Virgílio Pitta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velez FC's Severo Rubio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dé Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Severo Rubio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgílio Pitta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Velez FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dé Chaves came free, but Severo Rubio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Gerson Bittencourt managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Velez FC's Aznaro Rossello fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Severo Rubio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. With a little luck, Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt got control of the ball when Edgardo Solera tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Imanol Navarro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gerson Bittencourt, 1-2. Edgardo Solera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Bittencourt having to interfere. Edgardo Solera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Gerson Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Diego Madureira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severo Rubio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Correntezas EC's Dé Chaves got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ximen Campos hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Correntezas EC from getting a goal against them. Severo Rubio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Madureira's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Severo Rubio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 2-2. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

All the players looked a little tired when it was time for the first half of the overtime. It was Velez FC's Edgardo Solera that got to make the kick off. Severo Rubio made a fantastic save in the 100th minute, when Virgílio Pitta sent off a good shot on target. In the 102ndth minute of the game Aznaro Rossello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Correntezas EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Velez FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
