Azulgrana 81's Cirilo Peyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wesley Carvalho in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute Albert Rauvoe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rony Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Cirilo Peyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cirilo Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amauri Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Queirós in the 31st minute of play forced Azulgrana 81's goalkeeper Cirilo Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cirilo Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Machado in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Azulgrana 81 getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Alejandro Martinez hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO's goalkeeper Hélder Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alejandro Martinez. The crowd rose to their feet as Vladimir Lenin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hélder Faria. That made the score 3-0 in the 39 minute of play. After 43 minutes, Nicolas Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FLAMENGO and the Azulgrana 81 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Azulgrana 81's Henrique Morais got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir Lenin scored 4-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hélder Faria, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

After 50 minutes, Dieguinho Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FLAMENGO and the Azulgrana 81 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Azulgrana 81 booed when FLAMENGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieguinho Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Alejandro Martinez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Azulgrana 81's Albert Rauvoe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hélder Faria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Cirilo Peyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FLAMENGO. The crowd rose to their feet as FLAMENGO's Amauri Machado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cirilo Peyo. That made the score 5-1 after 74 minutes of play. Hélder Faria didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vladimir Lenin went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. 82 minutes into the match, Henrique Morais had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélder Faria. In the 87thth minute of the game Vladimir Lenin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FLAMENGO's Hélder Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FLAMENGO were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Azulgrana 81's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wesley Carvalho took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Vítor Queirós managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 94th minute of the match, Wesley Carvalho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cirilo Peyo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Azulgrana 81 getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Alejandro Martinez hit a great ball.

Azulgrana 81's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
