Elia Di Vincenzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akis Sarafis having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Punta came free, but Akis Sarafis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesare Punta in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Akis Sarafis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Akis Sarafis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Asklöv, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Urbano Saturnin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bob Marley went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 44th minute Bob Marley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urbano Saturnin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bob Marley to strike the kick off in the second half. Kyriakos Seremetis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Elia Di Vincenzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AFC Ajax's Akis Sarafis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesare Punta in the 88th minute of play. If Cesare Punta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urbano Saturnin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Markos Seremetidis went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Sao Brasola were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
