After a defensive mix-up in El Pibe Academy's zone, Julien Staffelbach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luka Jaćimović came out of the goal and Julien Staffelbach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bogić Tabaković in the 7th minute of play. In the 8thth minute of the game Arvid Carlsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Pibe Academy's Luka Jaćimović was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Linköpings AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jozo Popara was slow to take the kick. During this time El Pibe Academy's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Jozo Popara got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jimmy Olsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Puniša Mamić could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jimmy Olsson made a huge save. Julien Staffelbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 20 minutes, Arvid Carlsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linköpings AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arvid Carlsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, El Pibe Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Julien Staffelbach came free, but Luka Jaćimović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maksim Lazarevski in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute El Pibe Academy were awarded a corner. Jozo Popara went to the cornerflag to take it. Jovan Markićević made a great header on El Pibe Academy's corner, it was just that Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson managed to reach the ball for a save. El Pibe Academy's Maksim Lazarevski was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 31 minutes into the match, El Pibe Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Julien Staffelbach came free, but Luka Jaćimović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Puniša Mamić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jimmy Olsson having to make a save. In the 34th minute, Julien Staffelbach made a precise shot to the right of Luka Jaćimović. El Pibe Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Luka Jaćimović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvid Carlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Puniša Mamić in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimmy Olsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luka Jaćimović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvid Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Radisav Mikić charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Radisav Mikić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes El Pibe Academy got a freekick which was hit by Radisav Mikić. The supporters of Linköpings AIK booed when El Pibe Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Puniša Mamić didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Puniša Mamić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvid Carlsson in the 53rd minute of play forced El Pibe Academy's goalkeeper Luka Jaćimović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Linköpings AIK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan-Erik Lundqvist in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Pibe Academy's goalkeeper Luka Jaćimović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luka Jaćimović was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Arvid Carlsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arvid Carlsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After 69 played minutes Linköpings AIK got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Erik Lundqvist. Jimmy Olsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jovan Markićević in the 74th minute of the match. Arvid Carlsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luka Jaćimović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julien Staffelbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Linköpings AIK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
