Gotham City's Ragnar Kjellbom got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrzej Solarek kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Malcolm Månsson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Albano Piearres got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Mané Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Åman in the 59th minute of the match. When Gotham City's Ragnar Kjellbom in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalie prevented a goal. After 71 played minutes E. C. Flamengo Paraibano got a freekick which was hit by Erberk Tunçkol. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Åman in the 72nd minute of play forced E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalkeeper Mané Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th match minute, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardinho Vaz to maneuver through the defense. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano made a substitution. Thomás Loureiro replaced Erberk Tunçkol. If Ragnar Kjellbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ove Damm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
