Spectators: 7509 (Terracing: 5632, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) SRP-Laguna's Walmyr Cavalcante started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SRP-Laguna's attentive Gerson Leão managed to snatch the ball when Giovanni Pimenta made a throw-in in the 6th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the game, Ediberto Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SRP-Laguna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espigão Steamrollers the free kick. In the 11th match minute, SRP-Laguna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Faustão Custódio was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Emerson Leal. Leonel Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Faustão Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Dantas in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Faustão Custódio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yuri Paranaense. In the 30th minute, Leonel Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emerson Leal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Faustão Custódio. SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, SRP-Laguna's Faustão Custódio got control of the ball when Yuri Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Espigão Steamrollers's Vicente Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Neves in the 35th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Yuri Paranaense took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Faustão Custódio to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emerson Leal was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Yuri Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Faustão Custódio. SRP-Laguna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yuri Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Adalberto Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Faustão Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustão Custódio came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Espigão Steamrollers's Yuri Paranaense. But to his dismay, Yuri Paranaense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Emerson Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Faustão Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, SRP-Laguna's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri Paranaense came free, but Faustão Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the SRP-Laguna defense, Válter Dantas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Faustão Custódio. The SRP-Laguna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Faustão Custódio should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Espigão Steamrollers getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Zézinho Matos hit a great ball. In the 81st minute Ediberto Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 minutes of play, Espigão Steamrollers's Yuri Paranaense made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Faustão Custódio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the game, Espigão Steamrollers's Yuri Paranaense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Faustão Custódio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Walmyr Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 92 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Cavalcante. Faustão Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Paranaense in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Espigão Steamrollers fully deserved thier win.
