Faustão Custódio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 20 minutes into the game, Ediberto Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SRP-Laguna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blue Mountain State the free kick. After a rather tough play, SRP-Laguna's Ediberto Amorim got a free kick in the 21st minute. Faustão Custódio was a little too slow when Muhsin Taze got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 3-0. Ricardo Kaká could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Faustão Custódio made a huge save. Faustão Custódio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardo Kaká in the 28th minute. Walmyr Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Blue Mountain State's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmyr Cavalcante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Muhsin Taze got free with Faustão Custódio in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walmyr Cavalcante was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Muhsin Taze made a precise shot to the right of Faustão Custódio. SRP-Laguna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Romeu Martins hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Fethi Sekin hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Edson Palmeira struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Yalçın Olgunay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SRP-Laguna. Walmyr Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yalçın Olgunay having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Artun Şenyurt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Faustão Custódio was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. Faustão Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omer Halisdemir, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muhsin Taze in the 79th minute of play forced SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Faustão Custódio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Muhsin Taze came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Blue Mountain State fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Muhsin Taze couldn't finish the play. Faustão Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artun Şenyurt, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The supporters of SRP-Laguna booed when Blue Mountain State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fikri Kutsalmis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 minutes, Fikri Kutsalmis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blue Mountain State and the SRP-Laguna players grew even worse after the yellow card.
