The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Faustão Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomir Jurgiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Natural Born Killers's Slawomir Spychalski got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Slawomir Spychalski put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Faustão Custódio. Romeu Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeu Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th minute, Fabian Zacharczyk made a precise shot to the right of Faustão Custódio. SRP-Laguna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 17th minute Sérgio Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tito Borubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Ediberto Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sérgio Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Natural Born Killers's zone, Ediberto Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tito Borubar came out of the goal and Ediberto Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donato da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Ediberto Amorim notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Natural Born Killers's Tito Borubar. Tito Borubar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ediberto Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tito Borubar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Natural Born Killers's Tito Borubar got control of the ball when Ediberto Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ediberto Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Borubar having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Slawomir Spychalski made a kick off. Ediberto Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Borubar having to interfere. In the 52nd minute Sérgio Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tito Borubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmyr Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Borubar having to interfere. SRP-Laguna's Faustão Custódio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save SRP-Laguna from getting a goal against them. After 76 played minutes Natural Born Killers got a freekick which was hit by Slawomir Spychalski. After 77 minutes, Walmyr Cavalcante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SRP-Laguna and the Natural Born Killers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, SRP-Laguna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the game, Fabian Zacharczyk recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Faustão Custódio. Fabian Zacharczyk showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Tito Borubar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. When Fabian Zacharczyk fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Natural Born Killers's protests and gave Fabian Zacharczyk a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Natural Born Killers got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Zacharczyk. After a rather tough play, SRP-Laguna's Gerson Leão got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute, Fabian Zacharczyk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Natural Born Killers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato da Silveira during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Natural Born Killers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Natural Born Killers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
