Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Fabian Verzea got the match started through his kick off. -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Laurențiu Burca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save -BZF- Fc Gheraseni from getting a goal against them. After 10th play minutes Fabian Verzea shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Victor Ciociu and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 16th match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ion Ţeica to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Fabian Verzea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victor Ciociu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in -BZF- Fc Gheraseni reached it. In the 19thth minute of the game Dragoş Oloieru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Laurențiu Burca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 20th match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ion Ţeica to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Alin Moldoveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Ciociu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panait Dănescu in the 24th minute of play forced Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Victor Ciociu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fabian Verzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Progresul Pitesti booed when -BZF- Fc Gheraseni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Ivan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Buteanu to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Progresul Pitesti getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Ion Ţeica hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the game, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Fabian Verzea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Ciociu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dragoş Oloieru to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's goal looked a bit too open when George Buteanu came free, but Laurențiu Burca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Fabian Verzea notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Progresul Pitesti's Victor Ciociu. Victor Ciociu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When George Buteanu fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Progresul Pitesti's protests and gave George Buteanu a yellow card for diving instead. George Buteanu was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. George Buteanu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Panait Dănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Victor Ciociu threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alin Moldoveanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 65 minutes, Mircea Măgură managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Progresul Pitesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mircea Măgură was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 69 minutes, Dragoş Oloieru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Progresul Pitesti and the -BZF- Fc Gheraseni players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Progresul Pitesti getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Dragoş Oloieru hit a great ball. Florin Ivan kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Dragoş Oloieru. Panait Dănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Panait Dănescu came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the -BZF- Fc Gheraseni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panait Dănescu couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Aristide Cordescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Progresul Pitesti's Victor Ciociu got control of the ball when Fabian Verzea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victor Ciociu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Verzea in the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded -BZF- Fc Gheraseni left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Progresul Pitesti.
