Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's Pawel Janiczek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Tabb in the 12th minute of play. Pawel Marciewicz charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pawel Marciewicz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's Pawel Marciewicz got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Anacleto Clementi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pawel Janiczek. Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anacleto Clementi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Pawel Janiczek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mingo Torrente in the 21st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Wicher Wilchwy Come Back defense, Mingo Torrente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pawel Janiczek. The Wicher Wilchwy Come Back fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pawel Janiczek should have stopped the shot. After 28 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Mingo Torrente. 29 minutes into the game, Mateusz Oryniak recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leon Bartuelo. Mateusz Oryniak showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Pawel Marciewicz hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Nestor Tabb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Mateusz Oryniak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leon Bartuelo. That made the score 3-2 in the 36 minute of play. When Mingo Torrente came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Newells Old Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mingo Torrente couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 3-3 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zygmunt Logewnik to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's goalkeeper Pawel Janiczek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anacleto Clementi. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Anacleto Clementi hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Mateusz Oryniak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Bartuelo came out of the goal and Mateusz Oryniak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's Pawel Janiczek got control of the ball when Anacleto Clementi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Newells Old Boys's Mingo Torrente ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pawel Janiczek. Pawel Janiczek yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. In the 68th minute, Cirilo Goren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute of the match, Mingo Torrente tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pawel Janiczek saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Mateusz Oryniak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Bartuelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zygmunt Logewnik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's Zygmunt Logewnik in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Newells Old Boys's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anacleto Clementi got free with Pawel Janiczek in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Newells Old Boys would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
