Benjamin Price made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Gartzen Pons sent off a good shot on target. After 18 played minutes GreenUnited got a freekick which was hit by Elija Andres. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Mederi in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xalbador Gamiz saved GreenUnited from getting behind. Batista Liebana kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Marcos Mederi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Marcos Mederi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the game, Ernesto Txanton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Characate FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GreenUnited the free kick. In the 29th minute Marcos Mederi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xalbador Gamiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Characate FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Loco Palermo kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. GreenUnited's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Marcos Mederi 62 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. 66 minutes into the match, GreenUnited's goalkeeper Xalbador Gamiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcos Mederi. Xalbador Gamiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Loco Palermo in the 67th minute. Marcos Mederi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Xalbador Gamiz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Characate FC's Marcos Mederi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Xalbador Gamiz. Xalbador Gamiz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. If Marcos Mederi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xalbador Gamiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Mederi in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Mederi in the 81st minute of play forced GreenUnited's goalkeeper Xalbador Gamiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 minutes GreenUnited's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Primitivo Brun who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Michael Ballack got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-6. 82 minutes into the match. Xalbador Gamiz made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Marcos Mederi sent off a good shot on target. 87 minutes into the game, Characate FC's Marcos Mederi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xalbador Gamiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. Ernesto Txanton was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ernesto Txanton kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When the match was over Characate FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GreenUnited throughout the match.
