The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulgencio Berto got free with Edmundo Falcão in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Jesus Arias fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Candela FC's protests and gave Jesus Arias a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Joinville City - FSCMZ booed when La Candela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Berto in the 28th minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Edmundo Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joinville City - FSCMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Fulgencio Berto scored to the left of an out of position Edmundo Falcão, making the score, 1-0. Edmundo Falcão made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Fulgencio Berto sent off a good shot on target. Tiburcio Bonadona kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Inácio Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Tiburcio Bonadona struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Edmundo Falcão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Candela FC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victoriano Sazon was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Joinville City - FSCMZ booed when La Candela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Seguinus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Falcão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Berto in the 60th minute of play. Edmundo Falcão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fulgencio Berto's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Sazon in the 65th minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Edmundo Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luizinho Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Benigno Guillem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. La Candela FC made a substitution. Baldomiro Gonzalez replaced Victoriano Sazon. In the 69th minute, Fulgencio Berto made a precise shot to the right of Edmundo Falcão. Joinville City - FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 75th minute of the match La Candela FC got a corner. Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vicente Gerazan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led La Candela FC's Vicente Gerazan to fire away a dangerous shot which Edmundo Falcão despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 78th minute Fulgencio Berto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmundo Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmundo Falcão came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by La Candela FC's Tiburcio Bonadona. But to his dismay, Tiburcio Bonadona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Edmundo Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Berto in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Joinvilense came free, but Benigno Guillem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Seguinus to maneuver through the defense.
