Saul Osoitz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Charles Santos went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Celsinho Bittencourt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Saul Osoitz. That made the score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. Saul Osoitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Bittencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. César Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ermegildo Jaunti managed to get in a good position for a shot. LegionArgentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Ermegildo Jaunti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percival Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. César Alagoano's late challenge caught a LegionArgentina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. César Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Inter de São Paulo getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. César Alagoano hit a great ball. After 33 minutes, Douglas Neiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter de São Paulo and the LegionArgentina players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Inter de São Paulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Charles Santos had several of the LegionArgentina's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Saul Osoitz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Charles Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Saul Osoitz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Charles Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. LegionArgentina's Saul Osoitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save LegionArgentina from getting a goal against them. Inter de São Paulo's Charles Santos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Saul Osoitz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in LegionArgentina's zone, Charles Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saul Osoitz came out of the goal and Charles Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Saul Osoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Santos in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Santos in the 55th minute of play forced LegionArgentina's goalkeeper Saul Osoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute Charles Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Osoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yan Ceresso charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yan Ceresso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute, Yan Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the game, Celsinho Bittencourt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Saul Osoitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by György Kósa during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 78th match minute, Inter de São Paulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. Eliseu Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percival Tavares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Herrera in the 86th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Santos in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Saul Osoitz saved LegionArgentina from getting behind. Inter de São Paulo's Percival Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by György Kósa in the 93rd minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Inter de São Paulo had played much better football throughout.
