After 6 minutes, Przemyslaw Czerniejewski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Gdansk36 and the Rosenborg players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, FC Gdansk36 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Przemyslaw Czerniejewski to maneuver through the defense. Zbyszko Makarewicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florian Bulla in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute, Piotr Kozlowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dario Barberio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A hard shot 17 in the game by Florian Bulla from a close distance when the talented Zbyszko Makarewicz managed to make a qualified save. FC Gdansk36's players were relieved. Florian Bulla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Zbyszko Makarewicz made a huge save. After 24 minutes of play, FC Gdansk36's Robert Marchefka made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dario Barberio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute Przemyslaw Czerniejewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dario Barberio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Gdansk36's zone, Daniele Ramundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zbyszko Makarewicz came out of the goal and Daniele Ramundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Przemyslaw Czerniejewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Florian Bulla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zbyszko Makarewicz. FC Gdansk36's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florian Bulla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Andrea Ronconi kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Zbyszko Makarewicz made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Florian Bulla sent off a good shot on target. Piotr Kozlowski hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. FC Gdansk36's Zbyszko Makarewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniele Ramundo in the 44th minute of play. Zbyszko Makarewicz came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Rosenborg's Daniele Ramundo. But to his dismay, Daniele Ramundo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Przemyslaw Czerniejewski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dario Barberio came out and tried to block the shot, but Przemyslaw Czerniejewski slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 51st minute. In the 55th minute, Cyryl Fedosz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute, Dino Cieri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosenborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. 68 minutes into the match, FC Gdansk36's goal looked a bit too open when Enrico Panino came free, but Zbyszko Makarewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Gdansk36 booed when Rosenborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Ronconi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zbyszko Makarewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Bulla in the 75th minute of the match. After 75 played minutes FC Gdansk36 got a freekick which was hit by Witomir Debowski. Dario Barberio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Przemyslaw Czerniejewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Florian Bulla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosenborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. After a rather tough play, FC Gdansk36's Przemyslaw Czerniejewski got a free kick in the 84th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Piotr Kozlowski got free with Dario Barberio in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th minute, Florian Bulla made a precise shot to the right of Zbyszko Makarewicz. FC Gdansk36's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-3. In the 90th minute Florian Bulla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zbyszko Makarewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Florian Bulla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosenborg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florian Bulla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele Ramundo in the 94th minute of play forced FC Gdansk36's goalkeeper Zbyszko Makarewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Rosenborg players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
