Spectators: 7483 (Terracing: 5614, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ruperto Abeitia kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Mitxel Abella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Joost Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Seagulls defense, Ur Abenda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. The Seagulls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Joost Smeekes should have stopped the shot. 9 minutes into the match, Richie Abellaneda notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes. Jan-Joost Smeekes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ur Abenda, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Martin Andriessen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Firme Abaunza. Martin Andriessen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. 18 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Abeitia came free, but Jan-Joost Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ur Abenda in the 20th minute of play. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Abeitia in the 22nd minute of play. Martin Andriessen hit a great ball. Harm Meinders charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harm Meinders the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jan-Joost Smeekes came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Munat Tayka's Mitxel Abella. But to his dismay, Mitxel Abella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ur Abenda in the 47th minute of play. The Seagulls players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Munat Tayka were winning 1-4.

After 51 played minutes Seagulls got a freekick which was hit by Martin Andriessen. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Stef Pragt put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Munat Tayka booed when Seagulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stef Pragt didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rico Abad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gio Geerts hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Mitxel Abella's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jan-Joost Smeekes firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benat Abechuco, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With a little luck, Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes got control of the ball when Richie Abellaneda tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 67 played minutes Munat Tayka got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Abeitia. Jan-Joost Smeekes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ruperto Abeitia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 69 minute of play. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ur Abenda in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Seagulls getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rogier Veninga hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mitxel Abella. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Abeitia in the 83rd minute of play forced Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ur Abenda in the 86th minute of play. Jan-Joost Smeekes was a little too slow when Ruperto Abeitia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-7. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruperto Abeitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mitxel Abella got free with Jan-Joost Smeekes in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Munat Tayka could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Seagulls throughout the match.
