After a rather tough play, Seagulls's Harm Meinders got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertil Apelquist. The tension between the Zendraget BK and the Seagulls players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Zendraget BK getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Frisck in the 35th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertil Apelquist. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klas Axelsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 46th minute Karl Frisck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Joost Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 48 minutes into the game, Karl Frisck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jan-Joost Smeekes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reinhard Kloppenburg was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute Börje Rudberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Joost Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klas Axelsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Jan-Joost Smeekes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carsten Klaasens kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Bertil Apelquist hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Seagulls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zendraget BK the free kick. After 81 played minutes Seagulls got a freekick which was hit by Gio Geerts. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börje Rudberg in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Karl Frisck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zendraget BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.
