The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonsinho Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cesinha da Silveira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. With a little luck, Premier FC's Zé Paulo Bezerra got control of the ball when Vito Soeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Paulo José Gonçalves fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santo Amaro AC's protests and gave Paulo José Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. Cesinha da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Paulo Bezerra was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Duarte Maia. Eusébio Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dadá da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Premier FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
