The Werneck FC - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Branco should have stopped the shot. Umberto Araújo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Cabral came free, but Joel Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgard Cabrals short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Joel Branco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Edgard Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Goiás Esporte Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Werneck FC - DMZ.
