The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of FC Philotimo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coviolo:s goal. Domenico Olmi walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Enzo Rosato kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 11th minute of the match, Sotomayor Pendones sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Concetto Canzano showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Domenico Olmi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 25 played minutes Coviolo got a freekick which was hit by Cosmo Nauta. After some careless play in the Coviolo defense, Sotomayor Pendones kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Concetto Canzano. The Coviolo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Concetto Canzano should have stopped the shot. Coviolo's Concetto Canzano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sotomayor Pendones in the 31st minute of play. FC Philotimo's attentive Felix Artiaga managed to snatch the ball when Alexander Masetti made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game. Fulvio Aversa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Quiñónez Louzara made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, FC Philotimo's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Matteucci came free, but Quiñónez Louzara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delgado Tendiero hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Armando Pugliese took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Quiñónez Louzara. Quiñónez Louzara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberigo Matteucci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Lecea hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Mario Giner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberigo Matteucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 71st minute Armando Pugliese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quiñónez Louzara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Masetti made in the 73rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Armando Pugliese however managed to control. In the 78th match minute, Coviolo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosmo Nauta to maneuver through the defense. Alberigo Matteucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quiñónez Louzara having to interfere. After 89 minutes, Felix Artiaga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Philotimo and the Coviolo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee ignored Coviolo's protests and gave Alexander Masetti a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Coviolo getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Alexander Masetti hit a great ball. Coviolo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
