The Club Atletico Los Andes fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Club Atletico Los Andes's Ermegildo Donzel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Arsenal MGK's Renatinho da Rocha got a free kick in the 26th minute. Club Atletico Los Andes's Enrique Garaona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Vasconcelos in the 30th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Club Atletico Los Andes's Ermegildo Donzel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maurinho Aparecido made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Maurinho Aparecido came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atletico Los Andes's Gilberto Munio. But to his dismay, Gilberto Munio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. 48 minutes into the match, Marcelo Vasconcelos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Enrique Garaona, 1-6.

Enrique Garaona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, Marcelo Vasconcelos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Garaona. Club Atletico Los Andes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Vasconcelos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-6. 89 minutes into the game, Akil Yurtsever was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arsenal MGK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atletico Los Andes the free kick. Akil Yurtsever hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Enrique Garaona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho Simões in the 92nd minute of play. The Club Atletico Los Andes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Atletico Los Andes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
