Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) ATLETICO MENDOZA's Fabian Frederik started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristinel Ulici kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 3rd minute, Adolfo Garaile got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 5th minute, Ivan Gentza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cosmin Galiceanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Frederik in the 8th minute of play forced -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper Cosmin Galiceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 played minutes -BZF- Valea Buzăului got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dragoș. After a defensive mix-up in -BZF- Valea Buzăului's zone, Adolfo Garaile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosmin Galiceanu came out of the goal and Adolfo Garaile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when ATLETICO MENDOZA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Garaile didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nemesio Terciero was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Ivan Spineanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivan Spineanu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Iona Tudora charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iona Tudora the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes -BZF- Valea Buzăului got a freekick which was hit by Iona Tudora. Viorel Stoicea kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 30 played minutes ATLETICO MENDOZA got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Gentza. Nemesio Terciero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Spineanu in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Aldo Sotil got a free kick in the 37th minute. A hard shot 38 in the game by Ivan Spineanu from a close distance when the talented Nemesio Terciero managed to make a qualified save. ATLETICO MENDOZA's players were relieved. Cosmin Galiceanu came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by ATLETICO MENDOZA's Ivan Gentza. But to his dismay, Ivan Gentza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Nemesio Terciero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Spineanu went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Viorel Stoicea kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Spineanu to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Spineanu in the 57th minute of play forced ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Nemesio Terciero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Iona Tudora almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ATLETICO MENDOZA's Nemesio Terciero did a great save. Dinu Gherguț's late challenge caught a ATLETICO MENDOZA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dinu Gherguț helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Dinu Gherguț got a free kick in the 60th minute. ATLETICO MENDOZA's Nemesio Terciero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Spineanu in the 65th minute of play. Ivan Gentza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Cosmin Galiceanu made a huge save. In the 69th match minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Macaneață to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in -BZF- Valea Buzăului's zone, Adolfo Garaile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosmin Galiceanu came out of the goal and Adolfo Garaile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Spineanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Spineanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Nemesio Terciero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Adolfo Garaile left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ATLETICO MENDOZA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Spineanu in the 87th minute of play forced ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Nemesio Terciero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ivan Spineanu came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Spineanu couldn't finish the play. When -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Ivan Spineanu in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalie prevented a goal.
