An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Gotti in the 9th minute of play forced istanbulls's goalkeeper Hatemi Cire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leontin Titulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hatemi Cire having to interfere. After 11 played minutes istanbulls got a freekick which was hit by Kaan Erginsoy. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Yavuz Selim Yücelay hit a great ball. If Bruno Gotti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Gotti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Hatemi Cire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Bruno Gotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatemi Cire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hatemi Cire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Gotti in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Carmen Johannis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carpathians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave istanbulls the free kick. The supporters of istanbulls booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmen Johannis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's Ahmet Baki Uzsoy got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute Patric Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Pârcălab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patric Bierhoff to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Claudio Gentile was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goal looked a bit too open when Latif Şakir came free, but Basarab Pârcălab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patric Bierhoff in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basarab Pârcălab prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of istanbulls booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Georgescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Gotti in the 75th minute of play forced istanbulls's goalkeeper Hatemi Cire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Bruno Gotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatemi Cire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 played minutes Carpathians got a freekick which was hit by Avram Gherase. In the 85th match minute, istanbulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ertuğrul Hisarcık to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the match, Urs Nebunu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hatemi Cire, 0-1. In the 94th minute Bruno Gotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hatemi Cire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The istanbulls supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Carpathians's performance. The match ended with a win for Carpathians.
