ATHLETICO PRaiano's Iuri Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting a goal against them. Ademar Guerra hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 9 minutes, Gugu Leme made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SALIMEN's Aníbal Branco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th minute, Gugu Leme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aníbal Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Aníbal Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Leme in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adhemar Diniz to maneuver through the defense. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Gugu Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 26 played minutes SALIMEN got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Eger. When Alberto Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tróia couldn't finish the play. Gugu Leme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Iuri Arruda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adelino Penha. Gugu Leme's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aníbal Branco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Alberto Tróia made a precise shot to the right of Aníbal Branco. SALIMEN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Silvinho Amorim took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aníbal Branco. Aníbal Branco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adelino Penha to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Gugu Leme made a precise shot to the right of Aníbal Branco. SALIMEN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. If Silvinho Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Eger during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teodoro Eger hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Aníbal Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Dantas came free, but Iuri Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SALIMEN's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Gugu Leme scored to the left of an out of position Aníbal Branco, making the score, 0-6. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Iuri Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Teixeira in the 79th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Gugu Leme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aníbal Branco. SALIMEN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Leme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. After having played for 91 minutes, Silvinho Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvinho Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gugu Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ATHLETICO PRaiano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Paulo Almeida in the 97th minute. The corner led ATHLETICO PRaiano's José Paulo Almeida to fire away a dangerous shot which Aníbal Branco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
